Tail gas heaters

Sandvik electric tail gas heaters are specifically designed for incorporation into tail gas treating units (TGTUs) in onshore and offshore installations. Tail gas is the residual gas from the sulfur recovery unit, SRU. The Sandvik tail gas heater superheats the tail gas to recover and recycle residual sulfur-containing compounds. Sandvik has developed electric process heaters specifically for this duty. Read more about tail gas treatment.

Materials of construction

The elements and internals are constructed of alloy 800 and the vessel and tube-sheet are of stainless steel of the types ASTM 321H, 316Ti or alloy 800.

Temperature and capacity range

Sandvik electric tail gas heaters have an operating temperature range of 0°–400°C (32°– 752°F).

Available in capacities from 1–10000 kW, Sandvik electric process heaters have smaller footprints. They are virtually 100% efficient and there is no risk of fouling that creates a need for frequent cleaning.
