Longer heating elements expanded capabilities
A major Asian manufacturer of electronics components was developing a new heating process requiring long, thin electric heating elements. These elements also required a high mechanical strength and excellent temperature uniformity to achieve a more consistent end product.
To maximize process yield, the manufacturer required silicon carbide heating elements longer than the 3500 mm provided by the local supplier. We initially replaced the elements with Globar AS heating elements of 3600 mm, followed by newly developed elements of 3700, 3950 and 4500 mm, which have significantly expanded the customer's capabilities.
Future plans are to manufacture SiC heating elements of over 6000 mm long for new applications in flat glass and aluminum industries.
