Kanthal at the Aluminium 2014 Exhibition

Sandvik will demonstrate its Kanthal® branded heating products and systems and how they are included in advanced process technologies and energy saving operations at the ALUMINIUM 2014 exhibition in Düsseldorf.

From 7 to 9 October, more than 50 nations will represent the entire world of aluminum at ALUMINIUM 2014. Over 20,000 visitors are expected to visit the event and some 50% of them from outside Germany – the World Fair provides the most comprehensive overview of the industry and emerging markets. This year focus is on sustainability and international markets.

Sandvik Materials Technology will be in Hall 10, stand C62 and will display its extensive program of Kanthal branded products and systems developed both for primary and secondary aluminum processing.

Part of Sandvik Materials Technology, Kanthal is a global brand in heating technology with access to Sandvik's world-class resources, including research and development and advanced processing technologies. The company has a strong tradition in innovation and makes extensive investments in R&D.

"We are facing an exciting period of growth for our whole product portfolio, delivering a solution from the traditional Kanthal products to complex heating systems solutions, said Martin McIver, acting Marketing Manager, Business Unit Heating Systems.

"Our Kanthal branded products have not only improved capacity in furnaces with about 30%, they have also improved the process speed and service life of the products by a factor of between three and five".

"From a sustainability point of view our products also have a very good impact on the reduction of energy consumption. Replacing conventional systems with for example our Superthal heating modules has reduced the energy consumption for some customers by 40%. Other customers have replaced gas burners with Kanthal electrical heaters and generated significant environmental and safety benefits".

"We work closely with our customers; Sandvik provides a complete solution for heating requirements, from system design to delivery, commissioning and installation. Once the system is installed, we will support with preventive maintenance, repairs, replacements, service and refurbishment".
