Kanthal at Achema 2018, 11-15 June, messe Frankfurt

More than 30,000 decision makers are expected to take part in Achema – a global forum and trade show for the chemical processing industry in Frankfurt, Germany, 11–15 June. Kanthal will participate for the first time to present its electric heating solutions that enable customers to reduce costs and “go green”.

Kanthal, the leading heating specialist, will join some 3,800 exhibitors at this year’s Achema event at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, on 11-15 June, to present a range of electric heating solutions for chemical processing.

Topping the agenda at Achema 2018 will be biotech for chemistry, flexible production and chemical and pharma logistics. But if Kanthal gets its way, lower costs and zero emissions in heat transfer will be the big talking point.

By contrast to today’s widely used fossil fuels, steam and other sources for heating, Kanthal’s heating solutions – including the Flow Heater and Trace Heater – cover temperatures from 50 °C (120 °F) up to 1100 °C (2012 °F) with zero emissions.

"Our mission at the show is to convince the chemical and other processing engineering industries to ‘go electric’," says Markus Mann, Manager Technology and Innovation at Kanthal.

"Our electric heating systems provide high temperatures with advanced control accuracy, high load flexibility and a customizable setup. We can combine heating elements of various designs, Fibrothal shells and alloy piping to meet customers’ specific needs for reactors," explains Mann.

Go electric with Kanthal!

Kanthal, which is taking part in the show for the first time, will be displaying the patented design Flow Heater, the Trace Heater – for heat tracing pipes – Tubothal elements for process tubing, as well as Fibrothal heating modules.

Christian Steiner, Team Leader Technical Marketing, Kanthal, points out that high temperature and high flexibility is a winning combination. “It enables adjustments to be made easily during continuous production processing without having to rely on bench scaling, which is still very often the case. In addition to its quality range of electric-powered heating systems, Kanthal will present their new virtual reality app which shows the products in action and typical heat processing.

Markus Mann concludes: "Both the Kanthal Flow Heater and Trace Heater allow for zero emissions and mean that real flexibility and efficiency is achieved in production lines. It is our hope that these new possibilities will encourage people to rethink their processes and rely on electrical heating rather than fossil fueled processes which are all less efficient and not as flexible.

"We want prospective customers to know that Kanthal is the ideal partner in the electrification of heating processes."

At the Messe Frankfurt exhibition center, Kanthal’s experts will be on hand for technical discussions centered on heating systems at the company’s stand No D91 in hall 5:1.
