The new control system was developed to assist customers to run the flow heater more safely and efficiently.

“Our customers asked for better operational safety and productivity,” says Ralph Miethe, Product Manager Flow Heaters at Kanthal, “and we responded with a faster flow heater operation that lasts longer thanks to a number of new features.”

As an example, a new, patented heating cycle technology offers a longer lifetime of the flow heater and faster heat up time as well as cooling down time. It also has a built in protection against single phase failure to ensure maximum life of the heater.

Another feature is a new blower control that allows operators to control all process parameters with only one panel. It also allows an add-on of a flow guard that prohibits the flow heater to run without air. The possibility of a cascade control and a second thermocouple reading are also included.
